Data collected
The waitlist collects your email address and, optionally, your profile, interests and a comment. The Abyss application collects the identity, contact, technical context and project information you enter. The creator path may also collect the links, audience and indicative performance data you choose to provide. With every form submitted, the site also records the date and time, the language and the page of origin, as well as your browser's identification (user agent). On every visit, the host, the audience measurement tool and the font service receive technical connection data, including your IP address.
Purpose
Waitlist data is used to send the updates you requested. Abyss data is used to review applications, prepare a first exchange with the creator, assess project fit and, for selected applicants, organise the testing programme. An Abyss application only results in project updates if the corresponding optional box is checked. Audience measurement is used to see, in aggregate, which pages are viewed. Technical connection data is used to display the site, in your language.
Legal basis
Updates are sent on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Reviewing an Abyss application responds to your request to take part in the programme and to any pre-contractual discussions that may follow. Hosting, font display and cookie-free audience measurement rely on the publisher's legitimate interest in running the site and knowing how much it is visited.
Storage and retention
Data is stored in a private Google Sheets space. Unsuccessful Abyss applications are deleted no later than twelve months after the relevant selection phase closes. Data relating to selected participants is kept while the programme is managed and then in accordance with applicable obligations. You may request earlier deletion where permitted by law.
Data sharing
Your data is neither sold nor rented, and no advertising or profiling service is used. It is processed by the following providers: Google (Google Sheets and Apps Script), to store sign-ups and applications; Brevo, to send emails, only if you request updates; Vercel Inc., which hosts the site and provides the cookie-free Vercel Web Analytics audience measurement; Google Fonts, which serves the site's fonts and receives your IP address when doing so; Tally, which hosts the questionnaire, loaded only if you open it. Vercel and Google may process data in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside the European Union. The GDPR governs these transfers (an adequacy decision of the European Commission or standard contractual clauses); the safeguards each provider applies are described in its own privacy policy.
Market research questionnaire
The optional questionnaire offered on the site is hosted by Tally (Belgium) and is only loaded if you choose to open it. The answers, and your email address if you leave it, are used solely to guide the development of KRKN and to offer you the announced early bird price.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact me via the address above. If, after contacting me, you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
